Relating to the modernization of campaign practices, AB 73 requires certain communications relating to an election that include synthetic media to contain a disclosure; requires a copy of certain communications relating to an election to be filed with the Secretary of State; and provides penalties where these do not occur; and provides other matters properly relating thereto.

AB73 passed and was signed into law.

Provides voters with alternative (electronic) means for voting, candidates a way to pay filing fees with more options, revising the elction posting notices among other provisions. After many amendments and a final agreement, the bill failed to reach a vote in the remaining 2025 legislative time.
